Here you'll get a warm safety overall then you'll board a comfortable oak boat and immerse yourself in the captivating beauty of the Skjalfandi Bay. Skjalfandi Bay is renowned for its abundant wildlife, with a variety of whales of different types, shapes, and sizes frequenting the area. Among them are the dynamic humpback whales and the lively white-beaked dolphins. Before your tour, you will receive warm additional clothing. However, it is strongly advised to bring your own warm and waterproof attire, footwear, and protective bags for your cameras. The weather at sea can be chilly and wet.

The tour is dependent on weather and sightings cannot be guaranteed. In the event that there is no sighting you will get the chance to come again for a free retry on board the classic whale watching tour. There is no refund if there is no sighting.

The whale watching tours take place in the wild, unpredictable nature. While we have a high chance of spotting whales, sightings can not be guaranteed. If no whales (including dolphins) are seen on the tour, you can join a classic Whale Watching tour from Husavik for free, depending on availability.



The best months for whale sightings are usually May to September. 

There isn't a specific time of day when you're more likely to see whales. Their presence in the bay can change quickly, and each tour is a new adventure. Sometimes you'll see many whales, sometimes just a few. Nature is unpredictable, making every trip unique.

The most common whale species encountered during these tours are harbor porpoises, white-beaked dolphins, minke whales, humpback whales, and blue whales.
