The whole tour from pickup to drop off is 3 hours. If you did not choose pickup and are meeting on location, the tour is 2.5 hours. 



Embark on an unforgettable journey through the red lava fields just outside Reykjavik. 

First, you will be picked up and driven to the stables, which are about 20 minutes from the city center.

In the stables, you will receive a weather protective suit and helmet. Once suited up and ready you will ride the Icelandic horse for about 1.5 hours through the scenes of Heidmork nature reserve. 

When the ride is finished you can enjoy a hot cup of coffee and some snacks before heading back to your hotel or pickup location.

. We kindly ask you to be ready at your stop at that time. Be mindful that it sometimes takes a little time to pick everybody up. If you have chosen a hotel pickup you will have to be ready outside the hotel where the driver can see you.

You can also choose to meet us at the location, the address can be found on your ticket. Please be at the stables 30 minutes before the tour departure. 

In the pickup list, you will find all available pick-up points. Most of them are located in and around Reykjavík city center. You will be dropped off at the same location. No, this tour accommodates all skill levels. The tour is split up into groups based on experience, this is done so everybody can enjoy the ride. Beginners riding for the first time will enjoy the tour as well. 



No, all the necessary equipment will be provided. The only thing you need is some warm clothes and sturdy shoes. 



I am really experienced, will I enjoy the tour?


Yes, definitely. The guides will see that you are experienced and do their best to make your ride enjoyable. We recommend booking a private experience if you want to go fast the whole time. How long is the horseback riding itself?
