 This in depth guided expedition takes you deep into the heart of the glacier, where you'll encounter a mesmerizing crystal-blue ice cave nestled within Vatnajokull, Iceland's largest glacier. You will also enjoy many of the astonishing features on your 1.5-2 h glacier hike. Don't miss this must-do adventure when visiting Iceland during the winter season.

You'll jump on board a glacier modified super jeep that will take you through the terrain by the roots of the glacier. The superjeep ride in itself is an amazing adventure. 



During the hike you will make your way up and across the glacial tongue to interesting features and ice caves, with plenty of time to explore, take photos, and have a short lunch break. The hiking part is about 1.5 - 2 hours long. 



The highlight of the tour is definitely the crystal blue Ice Cave. Every fall the search for the perfect ice cave begins, since the glacier is ever evolving a new one must be found before every season. This year it's the blue diamond.

The ice cave season is from October to March. 



Please note that food and drinks are not provided on this tour. Please make sure you are prepared for the tour. 



It's important to dress appropriately for the tour. Please wear warm layers, waterproof jacket, outdoor trousers & good boots for this tour. Hats and gloves are highly recommended. Avoid wearing jeans on this tour.
