Into The Glacier from Reykjavik

Your tour will start from your selected pickup location in Reykjavik, before heading to the Langjokull glacier. 



Your first stop will be Hraunfossar, a series of waterfalls flowing out of the lava field of Hallmundarhraun in Borgarfjordur. Boasting Iceland's most beautiful colors in every season.



Right next to hraunfossar is barnafossar. Where the powerful rapids of the Hvita river entering a narrow passage make up this waterfall formerly known as Bjarnafoss.



The final stop will be at Iceland's second-largest glacier, Langjokull. This is the longest man-made ice tunnel in the world. Accessible the whole year round via the specially equipped, glacier-ready monster trucks.

You can either meet us at BSI bus terminal at your selected departure time or purchase pickup for ISK 1,599 (USD 12) per person. Pickup is operated by Reykjavik Excursions. 

Pickup time


If you have selected pickup, We kindly ask you to be ready at your stop 30 minutes before your selected departure time. Be mindful that it sometimes takes a little time to pick everybody up. If you have chosen a hotel pickup you will have to be ready outside the hotel where the driver can see you. Your ticket will have more detailed information. 



In the pickup/drop-off list, you will find all available pick-up points. Most of them are located in and around Reykjavík city center. You will be dropped off at the same location. If your accommodation is not on the pickup list try to select the nearest hotel or the closest bus stop.

Yes, there is always a guide on the glacier tours. 



Dressing appropriately for this kind of weather can be a bit challenging. We suggest layering your clothing, with three upper layers being ideal. Start with a light wool t-shirt closest to your skin, followed by a fleece or heavy wool garment, and finish with a waterproof windbreaker.

For pants, lightweight hiking pants, track pants, or long cotton pants are recommended, with wind/waterproof pants on top. It's best to avoid jeans for hiking, as they become heavy, cold, and uncomfortable when wet.
