Date night in Sky Lagoon

Upon arrival, go to the reception where your information is already registered. Then, head to the comfortable changing rooms with lockers for your belongings and private shower stalls. Towels will be provided, so just bring your bathing suit.

When you're prepared, you can make your way to the lagoon. The entrance to the lagoon is conveniently located indoors, ensuring a seamless transition. You don't need to worry about bathrobes or additional cover-ups. Simply step into the inviting waters of the lagoon and delight in the breathtaking natural surroundings.

While in the lagoon, take your time to relax, explore different areas, and even enjoy a refreshing drink. Feel free to bring your phone for capturing pictures, but it's recommended to keep it in your locker afterward to fully immerse yourself in the Sky Lagoon experience without distractions. 

Once you're ready, you can begin the 7-step ritual. As you move through each step, you'll gradually feel more relaxed, enhancing your overall experience at Sky Lagoon. It's a wonderful addition to your journey. After you finish the ritual you can return back to the lagoon. 

Feel free to stay in the lagoon for as long as you'd like, giving yourself ample time to relax and soak in the stunning views it presents. Bathing in hot waters has been a cherished tradition in Iceland for centuries, offering a rejuvenating experience for both body and mind.

What is included

- Bathing suits are mandatory for entering the lagoon and participating in the Seven-Step Ritual.

- If you don't have a bathing suit, you can rent or purchase one at the reception.

What to bring

Sky Lagoon is located in the capital region at Kársnes Harbour, Kópavogur. It is only a few minute's drive from the city center, making it the perfect stop while in Reykjavík. You can find the meeting point 

From Hlemmur square take Kringlumýrabraut (route 40). Continue on to Kársnesbraut and head to Vesturvör. The drive only takes around 15 minutes from central Reykjavík and parking is free outside Sky Lagoon.



Walking/biking/scootering from central Reykjavík


To reach Sky Lagoon from Hlemmur Square, you can follow this route: Start by taking Rauðarárstígur and continue for approximately 5.9km. Then, proceed onto Suðurhlíð and head towards Vesturvör. The total distance is around 6km, and it should take about 1 hour and 15 minutes to walk. The route to Sky Lagoon offers a pleasant experience, especially if the weather permits. However, we recommend considering alternative transportation options like taking a bus or taxi back, depending on your preference and convenience.



From Hlemmur Square, take bus no. 4 and stop in Hamraborg (15 min). From there take bus no. 35 until you stop at Hafnarbraut (4 min), the nearest stop to Sky Lagoon. Follow the signs and walk for a few minutes down Hafnarbraut until you reach Vesturvör. Walk along the ocean and you will arrive before you know it. Visit 

How to get there

 Enter the sauna for 5 to 10 minutes, allowing the heat to work its magic while enjoying breathtaking views through Iceland's largest single window.



Balance the heat by stepping through a refreshing cold fog-mist space, which revitalizes the mind, body, and soul.



 Indulge in a rejuvenating cleansing scrub with the signature Sky Body Scrub, leaving your skin exfoliated and radiant.



 Relax and warm up in the steam room, where the steam opens your pores, allowing the therapeutic elements of The Ritual to penetrate deeply and maximize the hydrating benefits of the Sky Body Scrub.



 Conclude the ritual with a pure and gentle shower, fully immersing yourself in the results and savoring the moment. Feel relaxed, rejuvenated, and energized from head to toe, both inside and out. 

After completing the final step, you can return to the lagoon to continue your Sky Lagoon experience.

Children under the age of 12 are not permitted at Sky Lagoon.



We recommend allowing 1.5 to 2 hours for your visit to Sky Lagoon. It's important to stay hydrated during your time in the warm water to enhance your experience and maintain good health.




The Lagoon is approximately 38–40°C (100–104° F).



At its deepest point, the lagoon is 120 cm (3’9” ft).




You can rent or buy swimsuits and swim trunks for rent in the reception.
