Glacier Snowmobiling & Into The Glacier Ice Cave

Your meeting point is at the parking lot 

You will board a specially equipped glacier super truck that will drive you to the glacier base. When you get to the glacier base you will get all the necessary gear to operate the snowmobile like cold weather suits and helmets. 


After a brief safety instruction, prepare for an exhilarating snowmobile adventure across the icy plains of the glacier. Embark on a thrilling ride to the mesmerizing Ice Cave, where a world of frozen wonders awaits.


Once you arrive at the Ice Cave, you'll be given crampons for secure footing. Then you'll go on a one-hour guided tour through the stunning crystal blue Ice Cave. 

After your exploration of the cave, hop back on the snowmobile and return to the glacier base. Enjoy the scenic journey and soak in the beauty of the glacier before concluding your adventure. From there, you'll be comfortably driven back to the meeting point

What to bring

 It's 130 km or 82 miles from Reykjavik, which is approximately 2 hours by car. Please check the weather and road conditions for a safe trip.

Do I need a drivers license to operate the snowmobile? 


Yes, a valid drivers license is required to operate the snowmobile. 



I have a drivers license but I left it at home? 


No problem, you will have to sign a document stating that you truly have one. 



What is the minimum age to operate a snowmobile? 


You will have to be at least 18 years old to operate a snowmobile. 



How long will I spend on the actual snowmobile? 


1 hour

Do you need a 4x4 to get to the glacier base?


No, although we always recommend driving 4x4 in Iceland, you do not need one to get to the glacier base. The road is paved all the way to the base. You will be driven from the base to the glacier in a specially equipped glacier super truck.
