The Lava Tunnel tour from Reykjavik

The tour begins with a convenient pickup from Reykjavik. Once everyone is picked up, you'll drive to the tunnel, which takes approximately 40-45 minutes. The tunnel is situated in the midst of a vast lava field, offering a scenic drive to reach it.

An experienced guide will greet you when you get there, ensuring you have the necessary equipment and sharing important safety instructions. As you venture into the cave, you'll follow a narrow sloping path, allowing you to truly immerse yourself in its enchanting atmosphere. You will spend approximately 55 - 60 minutes inside the Lava Tunnel.

What to bring

You have the flexibility to choose from various departure times for this tour. The tour will begin from the BSI bus terminal, and you can expect hotel/bus stop pick-up to start 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time. We kindly ask you to be ready at your stop at that time. Be mindful that it sometimes takes a little time to pick everybody up. If you have chosen a hotel pickup you will have to be ready outside the hotel where the driver can see you.



In the pickup/drop-off list, you will find all available pick-up points. Most of them are located in and around Reykjavík city center. You will be dropped off at the same location. If your accommodation is not on the pickup list try to select the nearest hotel or the closest bus stop.
